Prof Rosemary Ogu, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the University of Port Harcourt, is a Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist.
She graduated (MB.BS) with distinction from the University of Benin in 1999.
Her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital from 2003 to 2008, earned her the fellowship of both the West African College of Surgeons and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FWACS, FMCOG).
She has an MSc (Reproductive Health) degree from the World Bank Centre of Excellence in Reproductive Health Innovation CERHI, domiciled in the University of Benin.
Ogu’s research, with a robust focus on Women’s Health, is characterized by a commitment to improving the quality of healthcare services. Her work often explores the effectiveness of various interventions aimed at enhancing women’s health, maternal, youths and newborn health outcomes.
Prof Ogu is currently a faculty board member at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and the National President of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria.
Prof Rosemary Ogu is happily married to Chief Hillary Ogu and they are blessed with children.
